In our society we endeavour to preserve the historical customs of the town and its castle. We accomplish this by establishing historical groups, by renewing and awakening historical events and by organizing different performances. The important objectives are research activities in the field of costumography, medieval history, and we would like to emphasize the role of education through summer camps and workshops, in order to stimulate the local patriotism of young and old residents of Ptuj. The costumes und habits have their origins in the 15th and the 16th century. The town had its own autonomic authority, however, in the course of history it belonged to the diocese of Salzburg and it was also subordinate to the emperor, consequently it was an imperial-royal and a territorial city, as well.
